
The Government of Bangladesh has made a significant reshuffle at the field level of the administration. A notification issued today, Thursday (November 8), by the Field Administration Branch of the Ministry of Public Administration, has transferred and appointed 14 Deputy Commissioners (DCs) in various districts of the country.
The notification states that, as part of the normal administrative reshuffle, the following officers are released from their current posts and appointed as Deputy Commissioners and District Magistrates in the respective districts.
The newly appointed Deputy Commissioners are:
1️⃣ Ahsan Habib Hasan — Deputy Commissioner, Bagerhat → Deputy Commissioner, Naogaon
2️⃣ Abu Sufian Mohammad Adnan — Deputy Commissioner, Kushtia → Deputy Commissioner, Habiganj
3️⃣ Jahid Hossain — Deputy Commissioner, Bhola → Deputy Commissioner, Dhaka
4️⃣ Mohammad Shariful Islam — Deputy Commissioner, Bogura → Deputy Commissioner, Gaibandha
5️⃣ Muhammad Ziaur Rahman — Deputy Commissioner, Narail → Deputy Commissioner, Sirajganj
6️⃣ Mohammad Imran Hossain — Additional Secretary, Sylhet → Deputy Commissioner, Sylhet
7️⃣ Toufiqur Rahman — Additional Secretary, Planning Division → Deputy Commissioner, Chandpur
8️⃣ Abdullah Iftekhar — Director (Administration), Bangladesh Public Administration Training Centre (BPATC) → Deputy Commissioner, Narsingdi
9️⃣ Abul Kasem Md. Mahbub Hasan — Deputy Secretary, Ministry of Water Resources → Deputy Commissioner, Narayanganj
🔟 Abul Hossain Sadek — Deputy Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs → Deputy Commissioner, Pirojpur
1️⃣1️⃣ Abrar Ahmed Akhtar — Senior Assistant Secretary, Land Reforms Board, Dhaka → Deputy Commissioner, Satkhira
1️⃣2️⃣ Mohammad Sohel Md. Bahar — Deputy Secretary, Local Government Division → Deputy Commissioner, Feni
1️⃣3️⃣ Mohammad Masudur Rahman — Deputy Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting → Deputy Commissioner, Khulna
1️⃣4️⃣ Imran Hossain — Deputy Secretary, Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock → Deputy Commissioner, Chuadanga
The notification also states that the transferred officers are instructed to join their new workplaces immediately.
This order was signed by Deputy Secretary Abul Khair Md. Abdullah of the Ministry of Public Administration.

It should be noted that the Deputy Commissioners at the field level of the administration are responsible for implementing government policies, maintaining law and order, overseeing development activities, and coordination at the district level. Such regular reshuffles are seen as part of the administrative framework.
