
A massive march and rally were held in Dhaka-5 constituency today ahead of the upcoming thirteenth parliamentary election. The march started from Kazla Notun Road and went through Uttar Kazla, Jatrabari and Kazla Bridge to meet at the first rally.
After the first rally, the march resumed and the second rally was held at Shanir Akhara via Kazla Nayanagar. After that, the march continued and the day’s program ended with the final rally in front of Garib Bazar on Uttar Kazla Notun Road.
The rallies were presided over by Shahinur Akhter Sumi, the parliamentary candidate for Dhaka-5 constituency, and Manas Nandi, the convener of the Dhaka-5 constituency election management committee, members Nausheen Mustari Sathi and Manik Hossain, addressed the gatherings.
The speakers said that they must work together to fulfill the people’s expectations in the upcoming elections. They called for ensuring a free, fair and participatory election by increasing direct communication with the voters.
A large number of leaders, activists and ordinary people participated in the march and rally. A festive atmosphere was created in the entire area and great enthusiasm was observed among the local residents.
