Teknaf Upazila Representative: Members of RAB-15 have arrested two fugitive accused in rape and drug case warrants in two separate raids in Khonkarpara and Degilla Bill areas of Teknaf Upazila of Cox’s Bazar.

The arrested are Shahjahan Mia (27), son of deceased Badiur Alam, Ward No. 5, Khonkar, Sadar Union, Teknaf Upazila, and Md. Ismail (45), son of Zaheer Ahmad, Bill, Ward No. 5, Degilla, Sabrang Union.

He said, Women and Children Case No. 59/24, Process No. 4229/22, Section 7/9(1)/30 of Women and Child Torture Prevention Act-2000 and Baklia Thana Case No. 113/13, GR-113/ 13, the intelligence activities of RAB-15, Cox’s Bazar are ongoing with the aim of arresting two fugitive accused under warrant in two separate cases as per Process No. 311/21.
At one stage on Wednesday (May 8) night, RAB-15, CPC-1 Teknaf camp raid team conducted an operation in Khonkarpara area under Teknaf police station based on secret information and managed to arrest Shahjahan Mia (27), a warrant accused in the rape case.
Also, on the same day night, the raid team of CPC-1 Teknaf camp conducted a separate operation in the Bill area of ​​Degilla under Teknaf police station and arrested Md. Ismail (45), the accused under warrant in the drug case filed at Baklia police station. During preliminary interrogation, the arrested persons admitted that they were warranted accused and had been hiding in various places to avoid arrest by the law and order forces.

He also said that the arrested accused have been handed over to the concerned police station for further legal action.
