
Raibatul Tanzum Rimi, Special Correspondent: A drug dealer has been arrested in Trishal, Mymensingh, with 1,950 pieces of yaba tablets during a raid by the Department of Narcotics Control.
On Friday (November 7, 2025), a special operation was conducted, led by Md. Kawserul Hasan Rony, Assistant Director of the Divisional Intelligence Office, Department of Narcotics Control, Mymensingh. During the operation, which took place on the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway in the bus station area of Trishal Police Station, a man named Md. Sohag Mia (41) was arrested.
The arrested Sohag Mia is the son of Abdul Matin of Gaokandia village, Durgapur Police Station, Netrokona district. 1,950 pieces of yaba tablets, a motorcycle used for drug dealing, and 7,000 taka in cash from drug sales were seized from him.
After the raid, Sub-Inspector Azgar Ali of the Department of Narcotics Control filed a regular case at Trishal Police Station under the Narcotics Control Act.
Sources say that such operations by the Department of Narcotics Control will continue.
