14 per cent polls in Meherpur Sadar and 22 per cent in Mujibnagar till 2 pm

Md. Abdul Hamid Meherpur Representative: Polling for Meherpur Sadar and Mujibnagar Upazila Parishads is underway in the first phase of the Sixth Upazila Parishad elections. Up to 2 pm, 14 percent of votes have been polled in Sadar Upazila Parishad and 22 percent in Mujibnagar Upazila.

Sadar and Mujibnagar Upazila Parishad Election Returning Officer Mohammad Waliullah confirmed this information.

He said that 28 thousand 350 votes were polled in 94 polling stations in Sadar Upazila and 13 thousand 991 votes were polled in 35 polling stations in Mujibnagar Upazila Parishad elections till 2 pm.

On the ground inspection of various polling stations in Sadar and Mujibnagar upazila, it was found that the number of unheated voters in the polling stations is very low, the police and Ansar members engaged in security duties are spending idle time in the polling stations without voters, besides the presiding officers, assistant presiding officers, polling officers are also spending idle time in the booths of the polling stations. And candidates’ agents, many polling stations have no way of knowing from the outside that it is a polling station.
Shyampur Girls Government Primary School polling station of Sadar Upazila was visited, only 91 votes were polled at 11:10 am for 3 hours and 10 minutes, the total number of voters here is 2490. Alamgir Hossain, the presiding officer of that polling station confirmed this information, at 12:00 pm. In Shyampur Government Primary School polling station of the same upazila, it was seen that 200 votes were polled at 12:30 PM, the total number of voters here is 1797, Presiding Officer Monirul Islam said, 11.12 percent votes were polled at 12:30 PM.

In Hijuli Government Primary School polling station 212 out of 2235 votes were polled till 2 pm, which is 11% of the total votes, in Amzhupi Girls Government Primary School polling station, 2691 voters were polled here till 2 pm, 195 votes were polled here, which is percent. 13.8%, in Islamnagar Dakhil Madrasa polling station it was seen that 404 votes were polled till 1:30 p.m. The total number of voters here is 2205 votes, in Amzhupi Secondary Girls School polling number is 2550, 194 votes were polled till 2 pm which is 8%, Chadbil C.S. The number of voters in C Secondary School is 3283 till 2 pm the vote poll is 272 which is 9%, the number of voters in Mayamari Government Primary School is 1610 till 2 pm the vote poll is 329 which is 20.23%,

In Monakhali Secondary School polling station of Mujibnagar upazila, 67 votes were polled from 10:20 am to 2 hours, the total number of voters here is 2037. In Dariyapur Secondary School polling station of the same upazila, polling was done from 10:20 am to 2:20 am. It has been 199, the number of voters here is 3350, but in Sadar Upazila election candidate Anarul Islam’s own polling station Ashrafpur Government Primary School polling station, 393 votes were polled during 3 hours from 11 am, the total number of voters here is 2876.

In Meherpur Sadar Upazila Parishad elections, 4 candidates, 2 Vice-Chairman and 3 Female Vice-Chairman posts and 4 Chairman, 2 Vice-Chairman and 2 Female Vice-Chairman posts in Mujibnagar Upazila Election,
The total number of voters in these two upazilas is 3 lakh 3063 people.
