The 11 persons were arrested by Medipoli Police under Rachakonda Police Commissionerate. Rachakonda Police Commissioner Tarun Joshi said they bought the children from the three accused who came from Delhi and Pune. 13 children aged two months to two years were rescued. 11 people including an RMP doctor were arrested.
Tarun Joshi also said that all those arrested are residents of Telangana and neighboring Andhra Pradesh. Their interrogation revealed that three persons from Delhi and Pune were supplying these children to them.
Some families do not want to adopt children who are illegally collected. It involves various complications including preparation of documents. Many couples do not want to wait for their illegally obtained children to be adopted through a legal and long-term process. They take away one child forever from these gangs for five to five and a half lakh rupees.
Among the rescued children, 11 are girls and the remaining two are boys. They will be handed over to the child welfare department until their real parents are traced, the official said.
