Some leaders and workers of Barisal University Chhatra League attacked a journalist in the anti-quota movement. Abu Ubaida, executive member of Barisal University Press Club and representative of Barisal newspaper, was the victim of this attack while performing his professional duties. Eyewitness Mehrab Hossain said, "During the quota movement, I saw some members of the BCL beat a journalist when he tried to make a video. Even after presenting his identity as a journalist, they took away his phone and forced him to delete the video. Later, he was beaten indiscriminately.
Another eyewitness, Shubo Mandal, said, "When the journalist went to take a video, I saw a scuffle between the agitators and the Chhatra League. At one point, the movement broke up.
