Muktakathon Desk: General Secretary of July Martyrs Memorial Foundation, Sarjis Alam, has expressed his firm commitment to stand by the martyrs’ families in the July-August uprising. He said that the foundation will provide various types of support to at least one member of the martyr’s family, including providing them with a job. He said this on Saturday morning at the Dhaka South City Corporation’s Nagar Bhavan titled ‘Bangladesh by the Martyr’s Family’.
Sarjis Alam said, “Those who have been martyred are the best children of our nation. The foundation is trying its best to provide support to the families of the martyrs. We are trying to finalize the list of martyrs by the month of November.”
He also said, “We may not have been able to stand the way we were supposed to stand by the families of the martyrs and the injured. But our efforts were not lacking. We will go to everyone, listen to them. This is just a beginning. We are saving this foundation at the cost of our lives. I’ll keep it.”
Sarjis Alam also said that in view of questioning the list of freedom fighters, they are being extremely careful in preparing the list of martyrs. He said that the list of martyrs is being prepared after proper verification.
