More than 7 thousand illegal gas connections disconnected

Traveling Correspondent,Mehdi Hasan Munna: In the last two months (September 8 to November 10), Titus Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Limited (TGTDCL) disconnected a total of 7,040 illegal gas connections in Dhaka , Gazipur, Narayanganj and Mymensingh areas.This information was informed in a press release of Titus Gas on Monday.
According to Titus, detection of illegal use of gas and eviction operations are ongoing. In the last two months, 40 kilometers of pipelines have been removed.
According to the notification, Executive Magistrate and own personnel in Keraniganj, Kamrangir Char, Fatulla, Chashadha, Siddhirganj, Arai Hazar, Narayanganj, Savar, Kaliakair, Chandra, Joydevpur, Gazipur, Dhanmondi, Mirpur, Gulshan, Ashulia, Savar, Bhaluka, Mysingh and Meghnaghat areas. It is also said that 3 industries and 61 residential gas connections were disconnected by conducting operations in Keraniganj, Fatula and Gazipur areas on Sunday (November 10).
The total number of illegal gas disconnections is 7 thousand 4. Among them there are 97 industrial plants, 56 commercial and 6 thousand 851 residential connections. A total of 19 thousand 569 burners were burning gas illegally through these connections.
